HARIPUR: Two young picnickers died after drowning in the Ghazi Barotha lake here on Tuesday.

A teenage boy had died there last week in a similar incident.

The police of Ghazi tehsil said some picnickers were bathing in the lake at around Iftar time on Monday when two of them drowned for being not good at swimming.

They said the bodies of Haji Rasheed of Teli Mohallah, Rawalpindi, and Abdul Nasir of Hazro, were fished out by the local divers after several hours.

The local residents demanded the effective implementation of the ban on swimming and bathing in reservoirs to prevent deaths.

They said a teenage boy had died last week by drowning at the same place.
