GHALANAI: The Khasadar and Levies personnel repulsed an attack on a checkpost in Kar Kanai Gurbaz area of Safi tehsil on the night between Saturday and Sunday.

An official of the local administration told journalists that some unknown attackers opened fire with small arms on the joint checkpost of Khasadar and Levies forces during the night. They said the security forces effectively responded to the attack and exchanged fire with the attackers. No casualty was reported.

Meanwhile, the security forces launched a joint search operation in Mezargo Warsak Shamsha border area of Baizai tehsil. However, no arrest was made. Assistant political agent Sher Alam Khan visited Baizai sub-divisional Bahai Daag complex and held a meeting with commander 206-wing Mohmand Rifles regarding the prevailing law and order situation in the border area.
