RAWALPINDI: As many as 26 people, including a woman, were booked for allegedly bringing out an unauthorised Muharram procession and holding a majlis without permission in Saddar Bairooni and Gujar Khan areas on Saturday.
Police said a woman was booked by the Saddar Bairooni police on the charge of holding a majlis at her house along Chakri Road without permission. Police registered a case under relevant sections, however, no arrest was made.
Similarly, police booked 25 people for bringing out an unauthorised procession in Sandal Kinghar area of Gujar Khan.
A police official, Khuram Wasim, lodged a complaint with the Gujar Khan police, stating that Mohsin Sagheer along with 20 to 25 people brought out a procession.
He said though Mohsin Sagheer was asked not to do so, he did not stop and took out the procession from Sandal Imambargah which then culminated at Imambargah Hussainia.
