Security in Balochistan have claimed to killed 470 suspected militants, associated with various outlawed organisations, in the previous two years under the National Action Plan (NAP).

During the time period, over 100 militants were also injured in exchange of fire with security forces in Quetta and other parts of the province.

"Most of miscreants were killed during IBOs belonged to sectarian outfits,” said Anwarul Haq Kakar, the spokesperson for the provincial government.

The Frontier Corps (FC), police, Levies and intelligence agencies conducted a total of 5,640 intelligence-based operations (IBOs) in the province, added the spokesperson.

Security forces also said that during the raids and operations, more than 20,000 suspected militants were arrested in the province.

“Most of the militants belonged to religious and sectarian banned organizations,” said Kakar.

Security forces in the province had intensified their operations following the announcement of NAP.
