MUZAFFARGARH: A girl was hospitalised after she set herself on fire over a dispute with her mother-in-law at Pakka Ghalwan, about 70 kilometres off the city, on Wednesday.

Reports said Saima Bibi, 28, tried to commit suicide by setting herself on fire after exchanging harsh words with her mother-in-law.

A Rescue 1122 team took her to Khangarh’s rural health centre, where doctors referred her to the Nishtar Hospital in Multan.

The Khangarh police registered a case.

FAKE DOCTOR: Police on Wednesday arrested a man who had been running a hospital while wrongly claiming himself to be a doctor.

The team of deputy commissioner also sealed the illegal health facility in Rangpur (60 kilometres away from the city).

Deputy Commissioner Saif Anwar Jappa got information that a fake doctor and his team were running a hospital.

A team including Dr Shahid Magsi and Assistant Commissioner Dr Saifullah Bhatti raided the place and arrested Ghulam Abbas who was busy checking a patient.

The team also recovered expired medicines.

The Rangpur police registered a case against Ghulam Abbas.

The district commissioner said he had directed the health officials to crack down on quacks.
