LAKKI MARWAT: Chairperson BISP Marvi Memon has called upon the enumerators and social mobilisers to utilise their full energies to make the national socioeconomic registry (NSER) survey a success in the backward district.

She expressed these views while speaking at a function here on Wednesday to launch door-to-door survey in Lakki Marwat district.

She also held a meeting with the local government representatives, officials of district administration, police and other stakeholders.

District nazim Ishfaq Ahmad Khan Meenakhel, deputy commissioner Mohammad Bakhtiar Khan, district police officer Syed Khalid Hamdani and BISP officials were also present.

Ms Memon also addressed separate male and female gatherings in Lakki city.

She said Lakki Marwat was among the 16 districts across the country where NSER survey was being conducted in the first phase. She said the survey would help reassess the status of current beneficiaries and identify new households that fulfilled the criteria for the programme but currently were not benefiting from it.

Ms Memon said Charsadda was the other district for the survey in the pilot phase while registration had been done for updating the NSER.

“The enumerators will go door to door to collect data of households on tablets through an app,” she maintained, saying the use of modern technology would help collect accurate data and ensure transparency in the process.

“Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has issued clear instructions to ensure all deserving people get due rights,” she said.

The BISP chairperson said full support and effective monitoring by local stakeholders would be helpful for successful completion of the survey. She also clarified that no manual or forms were being distributed besides no fee would be collected for the survey, calling upon the people to remain vigilant of fraudsters and report any such activity on BISP hotline and to the local administration and police.

She also called upon the enumerators to perform their duty with dedication to ensure full coverage. “The data collection is the sacred responsibility because betterment can be brought in the lives of poorest of the poor through authentic registration,” she added and directed the field workers to reach everyone while keeping local norms in mind.

She also said that BISP would lay special emphasis on the frontier tribal region to ensure its full coverage in the survey.
