LAHORE: The Punjab government is fully committed to bringing quality in education and measures are being taken in this regard.

The educational reforms and related changes can bring the country on the road to progress which will be helpful in getting a significant place among big economies of the world.

Punjab Finance Minister Dr Ayesha Ghaus Pasha said while addressing the participants in a two-day international workshop on “Outcome Based Education (OBE) Implementation” arranged by Quality Enhancement Cell of University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore, in collaboration with the Pakistan Engineering Council held at the Chemical Engineering Seminar Hall of the campus.

The minister said the education sector had a vast potential area to induce effective and comprehensive changes because it enabled the socio-economic indicators to stabilize the country’s status.

Malaysian Prof Dr Megat Johari Megat Mohd Noor said the engineering education could be raised up to international standards through proper planning and utilization of all available resources.

He said all stakeholders must be taken on board to tailor the collective approach for attaining tasks and goals of the OBE system through its implementation.

He said for producing leaders, the university must change its curriculum and pedagogical skills to achieve the attributes of OBE system effectively which would push the country on way of development.
