RAWALPINDI: A 5th grade student, who was hospitalised after being sexually abused by his school fellow, regained consciousness on Thursday and helped the police arrest the accused.

The student brought to Benazir Bhutto Hospital last Friday was hospitalised after he complained of abdominal pain.

He was examined by doctors who found evidence of sexual assault.

When contacted Rawat SHO Malik Raffaqat said the accused had been arrested in the wake of the statement recorded by the victim. He said the accused had also confessed to the crime.

According to the child’s statement, he was taken to a deserted place during half-time by the student to sexually abuse him, police said.

The victim was recovering gradually in the hospital.
