Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Chairman and founder of the Shaukat Khanum Cancer Hospital, Imran Khan, on Sunday thanked Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Shareef for “granting land” for the construction of the cancer hospital in “DHA Karachi”.
According to DawnNews, a 20 acre plot in Karachi's Defence Housing Authority City – located near the Karachi-Hyderabad Super Highway – has been allotted for the Shaukat Khanum hospital.
An agreement for the purpose was reached four days ago between the DHA administration and the hospital.
Imran Khan's cancer hospital trust has already established two hospitals – one in Lahore and the other in Peshawar.
The Shaukat Khanum Hospital in Peshawar, inaugurated in December last year, was constructed on land gifted by the ANP-led government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Rather than thanking General Raheel thank the Pakistani public as it is our tax money from which Pakistan Army buy the land in DHA and then redistributes among their favorites. But interesting bit is that DHA budget comes from the Defense budget of Pakistan.

Its a good cause but the choice of location for this hospital is not appropriate. DHA at superhighway is quite far away for Karachiites. Even Gulshan-e-Maymar is not frequently visited by the residents of other areas of Karachi being far.

@Naeem first of all poor don't pay taxes .Transportation is a need for whole mass and it is a goverment responsibility. Hospital and school mostly run by the private institutions and donors. Gen is not giving his private property and it is also people place. As long anything for good cause people should appreciate it irrespective of there personal preference . IK is doing good by initiated this kind of thing using his fame. And many celebrities using there name for charities though they don't spend there personal dime.

If a leader works for any good cause for the benefit of general public, it must be wholeheartedly appreciated by all. Gen. Raheel Shareef has donated DHA land for a noble cause, but nobody remembers that, it was Nawaz Sharif who had donated the land in Lahore for Shaukat Khanum Hospital.

If Imran now gets rid of the tricky, crafty, corrupt to the hilt and good for nothing politics and fully concentrates on such noble causes for the general public, it would be much quicker for him to see ridding on their (public's) shoulders to the highest seat of Governance, without going through the insult of being obliged by the well tried, tested and failed politicians bent upon spoiling his image for good.

Nobel work Mr. Imran and thanks to GEN Raheel for the land procurement assist. Cancer hospital will serve lot more humanity than building houses for few families. As i am getting old I just want to see for once our Pakistan stable and no terrorism activities. I want to see Pakistan above religious strifes and tolerance. I want to see that every able citizen has opportunities to progress. I want to see genuine and true people leading Pakistan.

Is it a coincidence that Nawaz inaugurated bus service in karachi and imran cheering about getting land. I don't know he waited for 20 years. He could have bought the land with donation money and started the project. Why wait for DHA to start a Nobel project? Half of Dharna money could have bought him land. @Imran AB / Let us also have a word of appreciation for the generosity of overseas Pakistanis-who have and continue to do their part to help whenever there are natural disasters such as earth quakes, floods, famine etc. And of course they also contribute to help build institutions such as schools, hospitals etc. in Pakistan. The point is that our people are always there to do their part, with building of such institutions, and it helps, if there are right people at the helm of such projects.
