KHAR: Three children were killed and two others injured when the roof of a house collapsed in Gabari area of Mamond tehsil, bordering Afghanistan, on Monday evening, officials said.

They said that the incident took place at around 7pm when the family members of Ajdar Khan had gathered in the veranda of the house for iftar.

Local people reached the house soon afterwards and retrieved three bodies and two injured from the debris and took them to the agency headquarters hospital in Khar. The victims were identified as Murad Khan, 8, Umair Khan, 5, and Irshad Khan, 6.

Officials at the hospital told Dawn that both the injured had been shifted to a major hospital in Peshawar due their critical condition.
