KARACHI: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement said on Sunday the whole nation knew as to who was providing funds to Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan.
Commenting on Mr Khan’s remarks earlier in the day that the MQM should approach a court of law against the BBC which had reported that the MQM had allegedly got money from the Indian government, the coordination committee of the MQM said it was for the MQM to decide and not Mr Khan whether to sue the BBC. It said that Mr Khan needed the people of Karachi only for fundraising or at the time of election, as he never tried to know the problems of Karachiites.

Mr. Khan should do something positive and concrete for KPK and then advice or criticize others. We Karachiites had Mustafa Kamal and Punjab has Shahbaz Sharif as nation's benchmarks. I seriously doubt anyone from his party could serve KPK at the same level.

Over the last 30 years or so the graph of Karachi in every good statistics have gone down and the bad statistics have risen, whether you take the issue of education in public schooling, health facilities, transport system, justice system, etc..where as target killing, crimes rates, strikes in the city, looting of people openly at gun points, number of killings, etc...have risen many times fold. Over these years, MQM (not PTI or IK) in Karachi and PPP in Sindh has ruled it. Shall we complain to IK or MQM and PPP for Karachi's downfall? Over the same period, other cities of Pakistan if not performed markedly well, have not gone down either. Internationally, cities like Shanghai, Singapore, Dubai, Seoul etc developed over these years from the point below where Karachi is currently now.
Who we to blame to (when you (MQM and PPP) have been and are our representatives in provincial and federal assemblies)?

IK knows that MQM is not the solution but a cause of Karachi problems.

Yes, of course, it is up to MQM to decide whether to sue BBC or not. But why MQM has not decided so far on such an important issue which has, once again, shown the true colour of MQM. This serious issue is a part of these days' national politics. Every one is watching and opining the issue. So, what if PTI or its leader Imran Khan have expressed their views on this issue.

The reason behind such an aggressive response to a simple word of advice can only be because they know if they sue the BBC, the truth will come out in the open. If I proclaim that I will take legal action against someone and another person advises me to do the same and I tell off the advisor, then it means I was only talking about taking legal action in an empty manner.

And what has MQM done for the people of Karachi as they claim to be so aware of the sufferings of Karachities. They have been incharge of the administration for years now and have done nothing oblivious, if not actively participating, in the
degradation of Karachi law and order, water, environment, transport, sanitation, civil infrastructure. Yet they have the audacity to blame others!

@AH "Who we to blame to (when you (MQM and PPP) have been and are our representatives in provincial and federal assemblies)?" ... with all dues respect please blame yourself for having not enough knowledge of the situation. Firstly MQM was ONLY in control of the city during Mustafa Kamal era (2007) and during Farooq Sattar era (90's) and ask any karachiitte and they will tell you that these were the golden times. The rest of the time MQM was just a small part of the setup but never in control. Sarfraz was part of Pakistan World Cup team, if he was not allowed to play in ANY game would you have blamed him for the terrible performance of Pakistani team? You cannot blame a player for being a member of team if he is not allowed to play at all. Sarfraz was allowed to play only 2 games and he showed his capabilities. MQM was allowed to perform 2 times and they showed their capabilities.

@Ansir.khan Have you forgotten that Mustafa Kamal brought Karachi as 13th best city of the world in just 7 years? MQM and its KKF is the only entity that shows up first at any incident in any part of the country. Have you not seen leaders of MQM riding on top of fire engines to rescue people of karachi? helping rain victims while walking in knee high waters? distributing water, ORS and created so many heat stroke stations for heatwave victims? Media does not cover these stories obviously but people of Karachi know who really cares for them and thus they ALWAYS vote for them.
