BADIN: Lightning killed three persons, including a woman, as parts of Badin district were hit by a thunderstorm and rain on Friday evening.

Lightning struck several areas during the rainfall killing Ms Sanam, 30, in Ahmed Khan Loond village near Shadi Large town, Ishaq Loond, 16, in Sawan Loond village near Khoski town and Naroo Kolhi, 25, in the Baloch Chak area.

The other areas hit by the thunderstorm and rain included Pangrio, Nindo Shahar, Khoski, Malkani Sharif and villages along Badin’s border with Tharparkar district, parts of which also received showers on Thursday and Friday.

MIRPURKHAS: A windstorm also hit Mirpurkhas city and its suburban areas on Friday evening and uprooted many trees.

No casualties were reported till late in the evening but a large number of roadside hoardings and signboards were blown away by strong winds.
