Samuillah Shenwari scored 96 to take Afghanistan to the threshold of victory as it chased Scotland’s 210.
In Melbourne, Tillakaratne Dilshan hit an unbeaten century and claimed two wickets as Sri Lanka finally looked like a World Cup contender with a 92-run victory over Bangladesh. Kumar Sangakkara marked his 400th ODI with a quick-fire 105 not out.
