LAHORE: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Tuesday unearthed an illegal gateway exchange in Mughalpura.

An FIA cyber crime team, led by assistant director Jamil Ahmed Khan Mayo, raided a house in Shauwari, Mughalpura, and recovered illegal VOIP exchange and devices and SIMs of different cellular companies. It also recovered a biometric device of a cellular company. A case has been registered again the accused with no arrest.

The FIA also arrested a human smuggler, Muhammad Irfan, from Lahore. He was a proclaimed offender in a case registered with the anti-human trafficking cell, Lahore.

The immigration authorities arrested three passengers — Abrar Husain, Shafqat Mustafa and Chaudhry Muhammad Ashraf — after their names hit the blacklist category of passengers at the Allama Iqbal International Airport on Tuesday.
