RAWALPINDI: A three-day art exhibition featuring works by Afghan refugee children concluded at the Rawalpindi Arts Council (RAC) on Sunday.
Professor Rehman HabibZai, the cultural attache of Afghanistan, was chief guest at the event which was attended by artists and students from different institutions.
More than 160 paintings besides craft pieces such as decorated pottery, stone paintings, handmade flowers, bangles and interior decoration items made by the refugee children were put on display.
Rawalpindi Arts Council resident director Waqar Ahmed told Dawn that the objective of the exhibition was to encourage the refugee children to express their talents.
He said the exhibition was held in collaboration with an NGO to invite the Afghan schoolchildren from different parts of the twin cities to the RAC.
