ISLAMABAD, Nov 20: A woman along with her two sons and an acquaintance were arrested on Thursday for their alleged involvement in the killing of her husband and their father.

Earlier, a body was spotted by passer-by in a green area in Sarai Kharboza on August 23. The body was identified by police as 45 year old taxi driver of Mira Aku. Autopsy suggested that he was stabbed several times after being subjected to severe torture, the police said.

The man’s wife told investigators that she suspected that her husband was killed in a robbery as his taxi was missing. Police started an investigation which revealed that he had talked to his son and his mobile phone records showed that the victim and his son had both been present at the Bani stop in Tarnol the night of the murder. They also found that another man, who the family was in contact with, was also present at the spot where the body was recovered from.

The man was picked up on suspicion and confessed to murder, and the victim’s wife and sons being involved. The investigators also approached the victim’s mother who said that her son had divorced his wife in April over her affair with another man from Rawalpindi, the police said, adding that upon finding this they picked up the ex-wife and sons for interrogation.

The victim had divorced his wife, which angered her sons and her, who planned the murder. On August 22, the sons called the victim and asked to meet them, saying that they wanted to live with him.

Police added that they met him at Banni stop Tarnol and later the victim was taken to Sar-i-Kharboza where he was subjected to torture and stabbed to death.
