ISLAMABAD: Sui Northern Gas Pipeline (SNGPL) on Thursday cut gas supply to 29 CNG stations in Islamabad for not paying bills which carried Gas Infrastructure Development Cess (GIDC).
All Pakistan CNG Association (APCNGA) Central Chairman Pervaiz Khan Khattak told Dawn that the filling stations had a dispute with the government over the cess so they didn’t deposited the bills.
“The CNG filling stations failed to get the stay order from Islamabad High Court against collection of the cess (GIDC) from filling stations due to some technical reasons,” he said.
Mr Khattak said that several CNG filling stations in the country including some in Islamabad had managed to get the stay orders from their respective courts.
However, he said that the case of these filling stations was pending with the Islamabad High Court. “The Peshawar High Court on June 13, 2013 declared the GIDC illegal,” he said.
