LAHORE: Pakistan Textile Exporters Association (PTEA) has expressed concern over 7.89 per cent drop in exports in July 2014 despite availability of GSP Plus benefit.
In a statement on Saturday, PTEA Chairman Sheikh Ilyas Mahmood and Vice-Chairman Adil Tahir said that energy shortage is the prime reason behind the drop in exports. Export numbers in the coming months might be even worse as textile industry in Punjab has been deprived of its basic fuels and textile exports witnessed 2.37pc decline in July over the same month of the outgoing fiscal year.
