ISLAMABAD: As many as 4,500 police officials have been deployed in the federal capital to ensure security during Eidul Fitr prayers which will be held at 667 different places.

Moreover, Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) will clear all sensitive mosques and Imambargahs before the prayers. After prayers police officials will be shifted to different picnic spots as a large number of people, who once used to celebrate Eid in their hometown, will visit the public places.

According to the police spokesman, SSP Mohammad Ali Nekokara has put Islamabad police on high alert and instructed to remain fully prepared and vigilant to avert any untoward situation in the capital during Eid days.

“Special patrolling plan has been chalked out and police have been provided additional vehicles in this regard,” the spokesman said.

“Eid prayers will be held at 641 mosques, 26 Imambargahs and 19 Eidgahs so more security officials will be required. Car parking will not be allowed near congregations,” he said.

“Pakistan Rangers and police commandoes will also assist in the security duties,” he said.

“Special teams will patrol various urban sectors and rural areas, keeping in view the rush at public places. Security measures have also been taken for Shakarparian, Daman-i-Koh, Rose and Jasmine Garden, Lakevew Park, Chattar Park and markets,” the spokesman said.
