Israel bombs Gaza Strip again

Israeli warplanes pounded Gaza with more than 50 overnight strikes in retaliation for Hamas militants firing scores of rockets over the border, dragging the two sides towards a major conflict.

Israel's air force bombed over 30 targets including homes and called it part of a campaign named "Operation Protective Edge".

Why did Hamas start chucking hundreds of rockets at Israel in the first place knowing full well what the reaction would be? (HINT : If you do not have the military power to defend,it is not wise to start throwing stones and useless,aimless rockets at your enemy). What are the multi billionare sheikhs of Saudi,Bahrain,Abu Dhabi,Dubai,Kuwait,Sharjah,Qatar doing for their downtrodden brothers and sisters in Palestine who share the same religion and language ?! What is the OIC doing right NOW?

@colin Don't underestimate the power of the common Muslim, especially the Palestinians. Have you forgotten (probably conveniently) the renowned episode of 'David and Goliath'? The spirit is what counts here and not the military might (assisted and supported by a foreign power) of the opponent. Now, how many times has the mighty shown its might but failed to wipe out the Palestinians? So, there is no room for pre-judgement about the throwing of stones or rockets.
