DERA MURAD JAMALI: A driver was killed and another injured in an attack on two trailers, returning from Afghanistan, in Dhadar area of Kachhi Bolan district on Friday, Levies officials said.

The trailers were going to Karachi after offloading supplies for Nato forces in Afghanistan. Four armed men on two motorcycles opened fire at the vehicles.

One trailer caught fire and its driver was burned to death. The driver of the other vehicle suffered multiple bullet injuries.

Personnel of law-enforcement agencies took the body and the injured to a hospital.

The dead was identified as Farasat, of Mansehra district in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and the injured as Shahnawaz, who hails from Rahimyar Khan district in Punjab.

The Levies has registered a case against unidentified attackers.
