Civil awards conferred

RAWALPINDI: On behalf of the President of Pakistan, General Rashad Mahmood, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, conferred civil awards on eminent scientists and engineers working in the Pakistan Atomic Energy

Commission (PAEC), Dr A.Q. Khan Research Laboratory (KRL), National Engineering and Scientific Commission (Nescom), Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (Suparco) and Strategic Plans Division (SPD), for their meritorious services, at an investiture ceremony held at Joint Staff Headquarters on Thursday.

Of the 25 awardees, eight officials received Sitara-i-Imtiaz, 13 Pride of Performance and four received Tamgha-i-Imtiaz.

The recipients are: Sitara-i-Imtiaz — Syed Zahur-ul-Hasan Bokhari, Pervez Ahmed, Brigadier Shafqat Baig, SI Khaliq Dad Khan, Brigadier Azmat Hayat, Brigadier Muhammad Faheem Khawar, SI Air Commodore Syed Mehmood Hussain Rizvi and SI Col Zahid Majeed TI.

Pride of Performance – Syed Tauqir Ashraf, Munir Ahmad, Malik Murid Hussain, Khalil-ur-Rehman, Tariq Hameed, Farooq Ahmed Bhatti, Ghulam Rasool Akhtar, Wing Commander Tariq Ikram Ul Haq, Capt Hyder Ali Palijo, Dr Brigadier Masood Raza, TI Muhammad Yousuf Khan, Jehanzaib Khan, Dr Mehreen Afzal.

Tamgha-i-Imtiaz – Abdul Qayyum (Late), Lt Col Khalid Mahmood, Fasih-ur-Rehman and Dr Muhammad Farooq.
