QUETTA: Three employees of Uch power plant were kidnapped while going to Dera Murad Jamali in a passenger van on Wednesday.

“Our three employees who were going from Sukkur to Dera Murad Jamali are missing and have not reported for duty,” Naeem Ahmed, an official of the plant, said.

According to sources, one of the employees informed officials of the power plant that he and his two colleagues had been kidnapped by armed men from the van near Jacobabad.

Nasirabad DIG Qamarul Hasan told Dawn that the company’s officials had received two calls from an employee that were made from near Jacobabad. An official of the Balochistan home and tribal affairs department said the departments concerned in Sindh had been requested for cooperation in tracing the missing employees.
