New Delhi bans Chinese globe

NEW DELHI, Nov 10: The Delhi High Court banned on Wednesday the import of Chinese-made toy globes of the world following complaints they did not depict the disputed zone of Kashmir as part of India.

The court ordered the Indian government to enforce the ban, which also extends to the sale of globes already imported by Indian sellers.

"We direct customs officials not to permit the import of toy globes depicting territory of India incorrectly," judges B.C. Patel and B.D. Ahmed said in an order. They said the "faulty" globes were being manufactured by four firms in China and Hong Kong.-AFP
