KARACHI Mohmmad Waseem's late equaliser helped Karachi Port Trust (KPT) force a 2-2 draw with 10-man Habib Bank (HBL) in the Pakistan Premier Football League at Korangi Baloch Stadium on Saturday.

It was the bankers who got off to a confident start with a 10th-minute strike by Ishtiaq Ahmad. Faraz Ahmad of KPT cancelled out Ishtiaq's effort with a leveler six minutes later.

Ishtiaq was once again in action for his double in the 31st minute to help his side take a 2-1 lead.

But HBL were reduced to 10 players when Shakir Hussain was given marching orders for rough play two minutes before the break, while his teammate Abdullah, who had been yellow-carded in the previous match, got his second yellow in the 68th minute.

Waseem rescued resilient KPT from a possible defeat when he grabbed the equaliser in the 71st minute.

KESC face HBL, while PIA will play KPT on Monday.
