Four POs held in Lower Dir

TIMERGARA, March, 4: The Lower Dir police on Friday arrested four proclaimed offenders wanted to the Ouch police in several cases.

Briefing local correspondents, Lower Dir district police officer Saleem Marwat said that four accused identified as Amir Alam, Mian Adam, Saeed Anwar and Muslim Khan had been absconding for the last 11 years after killing four people in Adenzai.

He said that the accused were living in Jali Kas area of Hassanabdal in Punjab. “A special police party was sent there which raided a house with the help of local police and arrested all the four accused,” the DPO and added that the accused were shifted to the Ouch police station for further interrogation.

PRINCIPALS WARNED: The executive district officer, elementary and secondary education, Muhammad Ibrahim has warned the school principals in Lower Dir district of action if their respective schools showed less than 40 per cent. He was speaking at a meeting of principals and headmasters here the other day.

The EDO said that teachers should focus on students’ education and ensure their presence on duty. He said that the teaching staff should ensure that the culture of cheating in exams was properly checked. Annual examinations of students from grade 1 to 8 will start from March 7 throughout the district. —Correspondent
