LAKKI MARWAT: Police claimed to have destroyed the hideouts of terrorists during a search and strike operation in Lakki Marwat district on Sunday.

A police official said that the operation was simultaneously launched in the Shah Hasankhel, Ahmadkhel, Kattakhel, Mastikhel and Dhoda areas on the instructions of District Police Officer Shahbaz Ilahi.

He said that the commandoes of Elite Force, Counter-Terrorism Department, Rapid Response Force and members of peace committees backed by armoured personnel carriers also assisted police to make the operation result-oriented.

“During the operation, the law enforcers eliminated the mountainous hideouts of anti-peace elements,” the official said, adding that the policemen also used advanced technology and drones for aerial surveillance of the rural localities and difficult mountainous terrain.

The official said the police would use all available resources for the establishment of lasting peace and protect people’s lives and property.
