President confers Nishan-i-Imtiaz upon CNSC Gen Raza

ISLAMABAD: Presi­d­ent Asif Ali Zardari on Tu­­esday conferred Nishan-i-Imtiaz (Military) upon Gen Syed Aamer Raza, Com­m­ander of National Stra­te­gic Command (CNSC), at a special investiture ceremony in the President House.

The award was confer­red in recognition of his meritorious contributions, outstanding professional acumen and distinguished services towards the defe­nce and security of the country, says an official press release issued by the Presidency on Tuesday.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Chair­man of Senate Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Chief of Army Staff & Chief of Defence Forces (COAS & CDF), Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral Naveed Ashraf, Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidh, members of the federal cabinet, parliament and members of the diplomatic community attended the ceremony.

Later, CNSC paid a courtesy call on the president. The president conveyed his best wishes to him in his future responsibilities.
