KARACHI: The Sindh Tennis Association (STA) will organise a national juniors and seniors tennis championship from Aug 22 to 29 at Karachi Club, it announced on Tuesday.
The championship will feature national junior events in boys’ and girls’ U-18, U-14 and U-12 singles, U-18 doubles, as well as 35 and 55-plus doubles.
The Sindh ranking events will include men’s and ladies’ singles, boys’ and girls’ U-10 and U-seven singles, wheelchair tennis men’s singles and intellectually disabled open and ladies’ singles.
The deadline for entries is Aug 19, while the draws will be held on Aug 20 at Karachi Club. Qualifying and ranking events will begin on Aug 22, with the main rounds of the national championship scheduled to start on Aug 24. The finals will be held on Aug 29.
According to the organisers, travelling allowance will be paid to outstation junior singles players competing in the main draw in accordance with Pakistan Tennis Federation rules.
Awards worth Rs150,000 will also be distributed under the PTF’s approved prize distribution policy.
