Johnny Depp stars in Ebenezer

Paramount Pictures has released the first trailer for Ebenezer, a reimagining of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol.

Johnny Depp stars as a young Ebenezer Scrooge, telling the untold story of the man before he became the cold-hearted miser of the classic novel. The film explores Scrooge’s early life, the hardships and choices that shaped his personality, and the events that set him on the path to becoming the lonely businessman who later finds redemption on Christmas Eve.

Directed by Ti West and written by Nathaniel Halpern, the film also stars Rupert Grint, Sam Claflin, Daisy Ridley and Ian McKellen. Ebenezer opens in theatres on November 13 and marks Depp’s first major Hollywood role since 2022.

Grogu embarks on a new galactic adventure

Disney’s The Mandalorian and Grogu arrived on digital platforms on July 21, and will be followed by a 4K Ultra HD release on August 25.

The Star Wars adventure stars Pedro Pascal as bounty hunter Din Djarin and follows him and Grogu on a new mission after the events of The Mandalorian TV series.

Released in May, the film sees the pair teaming up with Rotta the Hutt, son of the late Jabba the Hutt, while facing new dangers across the galaxy. Sigourney Weaver and Jeremy Allen White also star.

The Batman Part II delayed to 2028

The Batman Part II has been pushed back once again and will now arrive in cinemas on February 18, 2028.

Director Matt Reeves announced the delay while sharing the film’s first teaser, featuring camera test footage of Robert Pattinson in a redesigned Batsuit standing in the rain. The sequel continues Reeves’ 2022 reboot, with Pattinson returning as Bruce Wayne alongside Jeffrey Wright, Andy Serkis and Colin Farrell. New cast members include Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan and Charles Dance, though their roles remain undisclosed.

The plot is still being kept under wraps, and the HBO series The Penguin is expected to bridge the events between the two films.
