Governor confers civil awards
PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi on Wednesday awarded presidential civil awards to 33 persons during a ceremony held at the Governor’s House.
An official statement issued here said that the governor awarded eight persons with Sitara-i-Imtiaz, two with the Presidential Award for Pride of Performance, 11 with the Tamgha-i-Shuja’at, while 12 others were conferred upon Tamgha-i-Imtiaz.
In the field of public service, the governor awarded Sitara-i-Imtiaz to Gilgit-Baltistan chief secretary Arshad Majeed, SSP Attaur Rahman, former MNA Shahabuddin Khan, Mohammad Israr and Syed Salman Rehman.
Sana Mir was awarded Sitara-i-Imtiaz in sports category, Ziaul Haq Sarhadi for journalism, Shaheed Rehan Zeb for public service, while the recipients of Pride of Performance included Jamshid Ali Khan for arts, direction and production and Aminullah Daudzai for literature and poetry.
The governor awarded the Tamgha-i-Shuja’at to Umar Tufail, Captain retired Najamul Hasanain Liaqat, Saeed Manan, Malik Gohar Ali, Sepoy Basitullah, Sepoy Samiullah Shah, Sepoy Sabir Ali, Sepoy Saib Din, DSP Pir Syed Khan, ASI Saleh Mohammad and Nawab Adil Khan for outstanding performance in the field of gallantry.
The statement said that the governor awarded the Tamgha-i-Imtiaz to Tariq Mahmood Jadoon for outstanding performance in education, Mohammad Hamza Khan in sports, and Maulana Mohammad Tayyab Qureshi for religious services.
Tamgha-i-Imtiaz was also awarded to Dr Mohammad Akif Khan, Mohammad Zahoor Awan, Mohammad Hilal, Naik Saif Khan, Abdur Rahim, Abidullah, and Mohammad Ali Swati for their outstanding performance in the field of public service.
Syed Sammer Abbas and Ms Mona Alam were awarded the Tamgha-i-Imtiaz for outstanding performance in the field of journalism.
Commandant Federal Constabulary Mohammad Riaz Nazeer Garah, heads of administrative departments, civil and military officials, and relatives of the award recipients were also in attendance.
