Dozens of undocumented Afghans held
QUETTA: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Tuesday arrested 34 Afghan nationals who entered Pakistan and were travelling towards Gwadar area without required documents.
A spokesman for FIA said its Turbat wing on a tip-off raided the CPEC road area and arrested 34 undocumented Afghan nationals who were allegedly attempting to travel to Iran through Gwadar route.
The spokesman said the operation was part of ongoing efforts to curb illegal human smuggling and undocumented cross-border movement in the region.
The arrested Afghans included men, women and children. After initial interrogation, a case was registered against them and further investigation is underway to identify facilitators and networks involved in the illegal movement of foreign nationals.
The spokesman said the FIA remains committed to taking strict legal action against human traffickers and all individuals involved in unlawful migration activities.
