CDA to provide free Wi-Fi service
ISLAMABAD: Capital Development Authority (CDA) on Monday announced that it would provide free Wi-Fi facilities to citizens at 30 different locations.
“The meeting was briefed that initially, free Wi-Fi facilities will be provided at 30 different locations in Islamabad for the convenience of citizens. These locations include main Markazs, Metro and Electric Feeder Bus stations, parks and other high-traffic areas to ensure maximum citizens benefit from the free Wi-Fi service,” says a press release issued by CDA.
It said that this initiative is being taken in the line with the vision of Prime Minister and Interior Minister.
It said that meeting, which was chaired by CDA Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa was informed that CDA’s technical team will provide complete support to NTC in this initiative.
The press release, which did not mention when the free service will be available, said that CDA chief had directed that an operational and marketing model be developed to make this system self-sustainable and the revenue generated from it should be utilized for the maintenance and upgradation of this facility.
The meeting was informed that the operation and maintenance of this system will be the responsibility of NTC.
