SUKKUR: Making a history here on Wednesday, 3,080 students formed the largest “Human National Flag” of Sindh as part of ongoing celebrations of Marka-i-Haq and Independence Day.

According to details, students of various schools participated in the formation at IBA Public School Sukkur, which was the first event of its kind in Sukkur’s history.

The atmosphere at the venue resounded with the chants of ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ (long live Pakistan) and ‘Kashmir Banega Pakistan’ (Kashmir will become Pakistan).

After days of hard work and rehearsals, children dressed in green and white clothes presented an unforgettable spectacle of patriotism by completing this grand human flag.

The ceremony was attended by Sindh government spokesperson and Sukkur Mayor Barrister Arslan Islam Shaikh, Sukkur Division Commissioner Abid Qureshi, Deputy Commissioner Nadir Shahzad Khan, Sukkur Deputy Mayor Dr Arshad Mughal, Municipal Commissioner Ali Raza Ansari, along with a large number of esteemed officers, teachers and parents.

Guests and citizens lauded the students’ resolve, discipline and hard work, declaring the display a historic moment for Sukkur.

Addressing the ceremony, Islam Sheikh said: “This scene reminds us of Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s unwavering resolve that united the Muslims of the subcontinent, and it reflects the courageous struggle of the Martyr of Democracy, Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, who made history in defending Pakistan and the rights of its people. Today these children are our true strength and Pakistan’s future,” he said.

“We salute our great commander, Field Marshal General Asim Munir, and the brave Pakistan armed forces, who, in the recent battle, decisively defeated enemy India. This victory sent a message not only to the Pakistani people, but also to the entire world that Pakistan is invincible,” he said.

He vowed: “We will soon form a human flag with 25,000 students to set another record, and we await the day when the good news of Kashmir’s freedom will send waves of celebrations across Pakistan.”

On this occasion, the participants paid tribute to the martyrs and pledged to make every sacrifice for the national unity, the integrity of Pakistan and the protection of its freedom.

National songs sung by children and patriotic slogans further energised the atmosphere at the ceremony.
