JI’s Hafiz Naeem warns govt against any move to recognise Israel

Jamaat-i-Islami chief Hafiz Naeemur Rehman has warned the government against any move to recognise Israel or become a part of the Abrahamic Accords under which some Middle East countries normalised ties with Israel in 2020.

Addressing a press conference in Karachi, Naeem said: “Some ministers in Pakistan […] have started making statements as if they could talk on the Abrahamic Accords, or accept Israel and take the issue ahead as a two-state solution.

“I want to warn the ministers and the entire government that whoever even imagines that they can have any discussion in Pakistan over becoming a part of the Abrahamic Accords or start any dialogue to recognise Israel, the entire nation will resist,” he added.

“Whether it is any prime minister or president; army chief or Field Marshal; all of them should understand that this is our red line,” the JI chief asserted, adding that his party would consider it an “honour” to lead any resistance against such a move.
