RAWALPINDI: A girl was allegedly raped by an employee of Adiala jailin the jail’s residential colony, police said on Friday adding that the alleged rapist had been arrested after registration of a case.

Police spokesman said the alleged rapist was a class IV employee and uncle of the girl.

The victim’s father lodged an FIR with the Saddar Bairooni police saying that his daughter who is eleven-year-old had gone to her uncle’s house for four days. After she returned to her home, she informed her mother that she was feeling pain in her belly and was taken to a lady doctor who confirmed that the girl had been subjected to rape.

Following the doctor’s report, the father of the victim asked the police for a medical examination from a government hospital and initiated legal action against the accused. Later the girl’s medical examination was conducted at Benazir Bhutto Hospital (BBH). The medical examination of the victim led to the registration of an FIR and arrest of an employee of Central Jail Adiala.

Police have detained two persons – including the main accused and launched an investigation.
