ISLAMABAD: The Council of Common Interests (CCI) strongly condemned the unilateral, illegal and irresponsible steps of India after the Pahalgam incident.

A communique issued after the meeting stated that Pakistan was a peaceful and responsible country, but knew fully how to defend itself.

The CCI also fully welcomed the Senate resolution against India’s illegal and irresponsible steps.

“Pakistan has the right to protect its water interests in view of the suspension of the Indus Water Treaty and stoppage of its water,” the council noted.
