Palestinians in Gaza have been queueing for hours at bakeries after Israel cut off all supplies of food, medicine and fuel, according to Al Jazeera.

Long lines formed before dawn outside a bakery in Khan Younis where Palestinians were queueing, hoping to secure just a single piece of bread to last the day.

“We can only get one bag of bread, the borders are closed,” 75-year-old Abu Essam Abu Sahloul, a Khan Younis resident, said, barely able to contain his anger.

“What can we do? For every person, there’s only half a loaf of bread, half a pita bread. I leave home at 6am and return at 1pm with just one loaf of bread.”

Samah Sahloul, another Khan Younis resident, said: “We used to have electricity to cook with, but now there’s no electricity and there’s no firewood to bake in an oven. As for the children, how am I supposed to feed them? I have a baby, and I can’t get diapers for him. This is not a life, to be honest.”
