KARACHI: A policeman was shot dead and his wife wounded in Steel Town on Monday, police said.

They identified the deceased as Khameso Jokhio, 40. His wife, Raeesa, 30, was also injured during the attack inside their apartment.

Malir SP Saeed Rind said that the police had got significant clue about the identity of the killer, who is a close relative of the wounded woman.

He said that the victim woman owned many properties and her husband was killed over their possession.

The body was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for medico-legal formalities.

The police said that Raeesa was under treatment at the same health facility.
