KARACHI: An 18-year-old girl was killed in, what was described as, “an accidental fire” in Orangi Town late on Saturday night.

Mominabad SHO Shahbaz Yusuf said that a man was cleaning his pistol inside his house in Bijli Nagar when the gun went off accidentally and the bullet hit his niece, Dua Gul.

She suffered a critical wound and was taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where doctors pronounced her dead on arrival.

The officer said that the girl’s parents told the police that it was an “accident” and they did not want any legal proceedings.
