French President Emmanuel Macron has demanded a ceasefire “as soon as possible” in Gaza, saying Israel’s deadly offensive has lasted too long, AFP reports.

The Gaza conflict “has gone on too long,” Macron told the United Nations, adding that “there is no explanation possible” for the thousands of civilian deaths.
