CHARSADDA: Senior judge of the Peshawar High Court Justice Roohul Amin Khan has said the use of the latest technology will improve the justice system and thus, ensuring speedy disposal of cases to the relief of people.

He was addressing a function held to inaugurate the Digitised Copying Branch, Institute Branch and Women’s Facility Disk at the Judicial Complex here on Friday.

District and sessions judge Saira Bano, other judges, district bar association president Mujeeb Khan and deputy commissioner retired captain Abdul Rehman were also present on the occasion.

Former general secretary of the bar association Saifullah Khan Cheena submitted a petition to the Institute Branch. It was received by Justice Roohul Amin.

The high court judge said the establishment of a separate desk for women at the Judicial Complex would help female litigants pursue their court cases without hardship.

He said digitisation of the justice system was direly needed.

“Developing the justice system along modern lines will ensure speedy disposal of cases,” he said.

Justice Roohul Amin said the Copying Branch would help litigants obtain copies of the records of their cases without difficulty, while the Institute Branch would make it easier for the legal fraternity to file claims as well as facilitate women litigants.

He said despite limited resources, the province’s judiciary took the initiative of bringing innovation to the justice system in 2016 besides the computerisation of records, start of mobile courts, and speedy trials.
