MANSEHRA: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mahmood Khan will notify the tehsil’s status for Tanawal area of Mansehra district, said local Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf MPA Babar Saleem Swati on Monday.
The lawmaker told reporters in Pulrah area here that Tanawal would be formally declared the sixth tehsil of Mansehra district after the completion of the feasibility study, which was currently being carried out.
Accompanied by PTI senior leader and former MNA Nawabzada Salahuddin Saeed, Mr Swati said the chief minister was issuing orders for the execution of all projects he had announced during a visit to Mansehra and Baffa-Pakhal tehsils.
“The chief minister has approved Rs16 billion gravity water flow supply scheme for Mansehra city and its suburbs. Work on it will begin shortly,” he said.
The MPA said several road and other projects were being executed in the district, while work on Rs700 million beautification initiative had mostly been completed to develop the area.
PROJECTS HAILED: Former MNA of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz retired Captain Mohammad Safdar on Monday said the mega development projects inaugurated by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif during a visit to Mansehra district would put Hazara division on the way to development.
Speaking to reporters here, the PML-N leader said the residents praised the prime minister for reviving the Mansehra airport project scrapped by the last PTI government and inaugurating the Rs45 billion Mansehra-Muzaffarabad Motorway and gas project for Balakot, Darband and other remote parts of the district.
ANTI-ENCROACHMENT DRIVE: The tehsil municipal administration on Monday began a crackdown on encroachments in Oghi area and its suburbs here.
The TMA workers seized illegal structures and pushcarts on Toheed Road, Shergar Road, Mansehra Road, Battal Road and Battagram Road.
TMA inspector Sanaullah, who led the exercise, said encroachments would be removed a daily basis and if the need arose, the crackdown would be carried out even on public holidays.
