ISLAMABAD: Thailand’s zero-handicapper Thitkrin Thapasit and Pakistan’s one-handicapper Rimsha Ijaz both shot two-over 74 to share the lead after opening round of the PGF International Ladies Amateur Golf Championship here at the Islamabad Golf Club on Friday.
Both Thapasit and Rimsha cracked two birdies each and are two strokes ahead of one-handicapper Mana Ssanan of Thailand. Nada Rizwan Mir of Qatar is a further three shots adrift, two ahead of Ghazala Yasmin and Humna Amjad.
Rimsha’s sister Parkha returned a card of 83 and is a stroke ahead of Ana James Gill and three in front of Tehmina Ahmed and Syeda Iman Ali Shah. The contest for the top amateurs began on Friday with competitions in other categories — according to handicaps — starting from Saturday.
