Learning festival planned in Abbottabad

ABBOTTABAD: The district administration, directorate of youth affairs and Institute of Education and Awareness will jointly organise the province’s First Learning Festival at the Comsats University here on March 12 and 13.

Deputy commissioner Rehmat Salam Marwat told reporters that prominent personalities from across the country would participate in the event and share their thoughts on different topics and experiences with participants.

He said special lectures would be arranged for children.

“The Oxford University Press, National Book Foundation and other leading publishing houses will sell books at discounted rates, whereas the wildlife department,social welfare, civil defence, youth affairs, sports, police and some other public organisations will set up their stalls,” he said.

The DC said the Bank of Punjab, directorate of archaeology and integrated tourism department would extend support for the festival.

He also said the administration had planned to arrange the Chinar Festival shortly thereafter.
