LAHORE: A sessions court on Monday handed down life sentence to a 60-year-old man for raping a teenage girl of his neighbourhood.

According to the prosecution, the 14-year-old survivor was returning home from her academy (tuition centre) when the suspect, Aslam, lured her to his house. The suspect intoxicated the victim before subjecting her to rape.

The prosecution said the girl got pregnant after the rape, which had been proved in the medical examination. The Factory Area police had registered a case in 2019.

Additional District and Sessions Judge Jamshed Mubarik announced the verdict, sentenced the man to life imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs300,000 on him.
