Five army officials promoted

RAWALPINDI, Sept 23: Five Major Generals have been approved for promotion to the rank of Lieutenant General, with two of them becoming Corps Commanders of Lahore and Peshawar, respectively.

Major General Shafaatullah Khan has been promoted to the rank of Lt-Gen and appointed Corps Commander Lahore. He will replace Lt-Gen Shahid Aziz who will shortly be retiring on completion of his tenure.

Maj-Gen Mohammad Hamid Khan, on his promotion, has been appointed as Corps Commander Peshawar. Lt-Gen Safdar Hussain, who is presently serving as Corps Commander Peshawar, has been appointed Chief of Logistics Staff at the General Headquarters.

Lt-Gen Anis Ahmed Abbasi, presently posted as Chief of Logistics Staff at General Headquarters, has been appointed as Corps Commander Gujranwala. Lt-Gen Mohammad Sabir, presently Corps Commander Gujranwala has been appointed Military Secretary at General Headquarters.

Those approved for promotion include, Maj-Gen Raza Mohammad Khan, Maj-Gen Masood Aslam, Maj-Gen Shafaatullah Shah, Maj-Gen Mohammad Hamid Khan and Maj-Gen Israr Ahmad Ghumman.
