CHARSADDA: Two minor brothers died when a boat sank in Sardaryab River here on Wednesday.

The tragic incident took place at the Sardaryab picnic spot. The drowned children were identified as Abdul Basit, 4, and Zaid, 7, sons of Khalid Khan of Eidgah Road Peshawar.

After hectic efforts, the rescuers found the body of one of the drowned children while search was underway for the second one. The ill-fated family had come for the picnic.

The picnickers usually enjoy boating when they visit Sardaryab. Similarly, a group of people was enjoying boating when the boat hit pillar of a bridge and capsised. However, the locals rescued the eight persons onboard the boat.
