SHANGLA: The incidents of pickpockets robbing people of their hard earned money have increased in Bisham ahead of Eid.
Residents complained that police were not taking action to arrest pickpockets who had deprived several people of their money in the local streets and bazaars.
“I was buying vegetable after withdrawal of cash from a local bank, but after sometime when I checked my pocket my wallet was missing. Then I went to the police station and registered an FIR against unknown people,” said Samiullah, a resident of Abasin Colony.
He said that his brother Dr Sanaullah was also deprived of Rs11,000 when he was giving treating to a patient in the tehsil headquarters hospital, Bisham.
Another victim said that cash was stolen from his pocket in Bisham bazaar on Wednesday when he was busy shopping. He said that the local police had registered a case in this regard.
When contacted, Bisham SHO Habib Sayed Khan confirmed the incidents and said that they had arrested several suspects and started investigations.
Meanwhile, people of Alpuri tehsil demanded posting of assistant commissioner in Alpuri, as the post has been vacant for the last four months. They said that they had been facing problems in verification of domicile certificates and other documents in the absence of assistant commissioner.
They have appealed to the provincial government to appoint AC in Alpuri.
KILLED: Body of a six-year-old girl wrapped in a sack was found after she went missing in Shang area on Wednesday.
Police said that the girl went missing in the morning in Shang area of Bisham city and after hectic efforts a relative found her body and took her to the tehsil headquarters hospital, Bisham, for autopsy.
The police lodged the first information report on complaint of her uncle Amir Zeb complaint and have started investigations.
