KARACHI: A bomb was defused on Wednesday by the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) in the SITE area of Karachi, DawnNews reported.

Area residents contacted the police regarding a suspicious bag near Naurus Chowrangi in SITE.

Police upon reaching the scene, searched the bag and confirmed that it contained a bomb.

The BDS personnel also reached the location and defused the bomb.

According to BDS personnel, the improvised bomb weighed nearly 12 kilograms and also contained ball bearings.

Moreover, police started a search operation in the area with the incident leading to by fear and anxiety among the residents.

Also, the incident came a day after explosives were found outside the office of a TV channel in SITE.
